POET Biorefining, located in Groton, SD, is the 16th ethanol plant built by POET Design & Construction and the 10th plant to be managed by POET who began building ethanol plants in the 1980s.
POET Biorefining - Groton is excited to be a part of the ethanol industry and proud to bring even more value-added agriculture to the state of South Dakota.
Ethanol production by POET Biorefining - Groton consumes approximately 18 million bushels of corn from the region and provides not only an environmentally friendly fuel, but also Dakota Gold® Plus, a valuable high quality livestock feed for local, regional and national markets.
POET Biorefining - Groton is situated on 138 acres and employs 41 technical and professional positions to operate and manage this state-of-the-art, 7-day-a-week, 24-hours-a-day facility.
